The illustrations are based on Tove Jansson's comics "Moomin and the Martians" from 1957, "Moomin Builds a New House" and "Moomin Valley Turns Jungle" from 1956, and Tove and Lars Jansson's comic "Snorkmaiden Goes Rococo" from 1958.
